Age Old Wisdom

They say with age comes wisdom
No one says with age comes new troubles
The tired bones and the wrinkly brows
The saggy skin and the droopy eyes
The failing hearing and people failing to hear you
The ‘I forget’ and once upon a time
Now there’s new loud music, unlike times of blues and jazz
Now the there’s attires, that never quite cover the breasts
Everyone is running places and talking on gadgets
No one writes anymore, it’s all emails and texts
They say with age comes wisdom
Wisdom to impart, wisdom the young refuse to receive
With age comes wisdom
Wisdom to know you get old all by yourself, the world goes on
With or without your age old wisdom

The One for Me

I had consciousness of life knowing you
My being has memories of you
I have morsels of your image in my mind
Your smile, your laugh
Your touch, your voice
The way you look at me
The jokes you tell to me
The feel of your shoulder when I lean on you
Your arms around me when I’m scared
I’ve known you my whole life
Though I’m yet to meet you
Try as I might I cannot see you face
Hard as I strain I do not recollect your name
I hope my being recognises you when we meet
I pray my soul connects to you when we see
I know with certainty to me; you are MY ONE

In my Pursuit

In my search for serenity,
I have lost my heart
I have lost my head
And I have lost my hope.
In my pursuit for love
I have lost my grace
I have lost my place
And I have lost my way
So I closed my eyes, spun around
And started my journey all over again
